Best-Gaming-Laptop-2018

Gaming laptops have been around for quite some time. However, it’s important to keep in mind that they are slowly creeping towards mainstream consumption, and if you look at the best gaming laptops in the market at the moment, you’ll realise there isn’t a lot of performance difference when compared to full sized PCs.

Things You Should Consider When Buying a Gaming Laptop

We’ve already discussed time and again how buying a gaming laptop is somewhat different than buying a gaming PC, and there’s a huge reason behind that. The reason is simple to understand, where you can gather different parts and put them together in a gaming PC, you can’t do such thing in a gaming laptop.

Keeping that in mind, not all, but most of the modern day gaming laptops allow for some expansion or upgradation, to make things easier. This is somewhat of a modular system but keep in mind that apart from the RAM or storage, there isn’t much to upgrade because everything is very securely soldered on.

Keeping that in mind, it’s very important to make sure that whenever you’re in the market looking for a gaming laptop, you make the right decision and not end up with a laptop that’s only good for the games that you’re currently intending to play. It’s always better to go for a laptop that’ll last you some amount of time before you can go ahead.

So, with that in mind, we’re going to go ahead and have a look at some of the things that require important consideration when buying a gaming laptop. Let’s not waste time, and start looking, shall we?

Budget

One really important thing that you need to consider when you’re in the market looking for a gaming laptop is the amount of money you’re willing to spend. This can vary for different people, and it also depends on the manufacturers, but the budget is something that happens to be extremely important.

Once you have the proper budget, you can actually go ahead and start looking at the other things that matter as well. In case you are wondering how much should be enough, we’d say anywhere from $900 to $1,200 will get you a good budget gaming laptop. However, keep in mind that this price is just meant as a point of reference and nothing more.

Specifications

Once you have considered your budget, you can start considering the specifications that you want in your laptop. Generally, people aim for a faster graphic card, because that is something that can’t be easily upgraded, so you should definitely keep that in mind. On storage, gaming laptops ship with HDD, SSHD, or SSD.

The type of storage you get actually depends on the amount of money you’re about to spend on a gaming laptop. The storage is something that can easily be upgraded, so even if you start off with something lower, you can later get something bigger.

Moving onto the RAM, 8GB is enough for many modern games but some games requires 16GB of RAM in order to handle all the background processes as well.

The good news here is that most of the gaming laptops that we have tested are actually equipped with 16GB RAM, so you’d be more than okay. With these main things in mind, we can assure you that your laptop buying experience will be really good, and you won’t have any problems with playing most of the modern game titles at respectable settings and frame-rate as well.

Use Case

The second last thing that you need to consider when buying a gaming laptop is obviously the use case. Now this is something that is never the same for different people and it’s slightly difficult for people to actually know what they want in a laptop.

Are you interested in just gaming or do you want to be able to do some productivity work as well? If you’re into editing on the go, then you may need a laptop with a powerful hardware as compared to a gaming laptop that’ll just do fine even when you’re throwing intensive tasks on it.

Make sure that you have that in mind before you go ahead in the market and start looking for a good gaming laptop that fits all your needs.

Mobility

A lot of laptop owners that we have talked to in the past have told us that they prefer their laptops to be light and easy to carry. We don’t blame them because it’s not really ideal to carry around a laptop that’s heavy, and not easily mobile.

But, the good thing is that  modern hardware’s efficiency of running cooler despite being really powerful has allowed the laptops to be slimmer, and lighter in weight as well.

Sure, the market still has gaming laptops that are heavier in weight, and have beefy cooling systems built into them but you need to keep in mind that these laptops cost a lot, and not very ideal in the first place.

We can assure you that most of the laptops in our list will have good mobility, allowing the users to easily carry them wherever they want without breaking their backups, or putting on extra weight. Something that can be a concern for a lot of people.

The Razer Blade (2016)

razer-blade-2016-best-gaming-laptop

Razer’s vision of the gaming industry went way far than it was initially planned, the company started by producing some great gaming peripherals, and after a massive success in the peripheral market, they finally released their own laptops.

While it wasn’t easy fighting with the giants of the industry who’ve been around for years, they finally started dealing heavy blows. In comes The Razer Blade 2016, one of the best gaming laptops in the market.

It’s quite possibly one of the fastest, as well as the lightest gaming laptops that are available in the market. The Blade 2016 comes with bright, vivid display that has amazing viewing angles, the keyboard is backlit, the overall profile and design of the laptop is slim, and lightweight. The construction material is pretty premium, and you get a graphic card that provides amazing performance, and runs VR as well.

You may be wondering that such a powerhouse of a laptop might be compromising on the battery, but you’d be wrong as the Razer Blade 2016 offers excellent battery life through and through. In all honesty, the Razer Blade 2016 is definitely one of our favourite laptops.

It goes to show that you don’t need something extremely bulky to have good performance and similar aspects. However, despite just how good the laptop is, there are some shortcomings that you should know about.

The laptop can get moderately hot when used for gaming, and the speakers are only above average. With that said, we’re not saying that these are deal breakers, but if you’re spending a good amount of money on a laptop, you better have a lot of good amenities included, no?

All in all, the Razer Blade 2016 is a wonderful gaming laptop that is worth every single penny that you spend on it. Sure, there are some shortcomings, but if you can get over those, the laptop will be a definitive gaming companion that you’d need.

Pros

    • Slim, sleek design

    • Great specs, equally great performance.

    • Excellent battery life.

    • Easy to carry.

    • Beautiful screen.

Cons

    • Laptop can get hot when gaming.

    • Speakers aren’t powerful enough.

ROG Strix GL502VM 15.6

Asus has created quite a bit of stir in the gaming laptop industry ever since the Strix brand of laptops started coming out, these were mainly for people who don’t want to spend a lot of money on a gaming laptop, but still want a decent enough performance to begin with.

Needless to say, they have succeeded in gaining the interest of the masses; the laptop we’re looking at is the ROG Strix GL502VM 15.6". A mid-range gaming laptop that has all the bells and whistles that you’d expect from a good gaming laptop without being too heavy on the pocket.

Keep in mind that this is one of the more powerful laptops in the market since this one ships with a desktop grade GTX 1060, as well as a screen that supports Nvidia’s G-Sync. This combination offers a great experience for gamers who want smooth framerates in the games that they want to play.

Speaking of performance, the laptop offers the performance you’d expect from a GTX 1060, and while it’s not as fast as the fully desktop version, it’s still very close, and offers a respectable performance to begin with.

You should also keep in mind that the ROG Strix GL502VM 15.6" boasts one of the most beautiful 1080p displays that we have seen in the gaming laptops. At 15.6”, it looks absolutely stunning with vivid, and accurate colour reproduction.

Thanks to the G-Sync panel and the GTX 1060, gaming at full HD is a breeze with very little, but tolerable stutter, nothing that can should effect the overall performance or the experience at the same time. Another great thing about the GL502VM is the fact that the speakers are actually powerful enough.

While we’d suggest using headphones for optimal gaming experience, you can actually use the speakers as well. Last but not the least, the overall looks are rather modern, the laptop doesn’t scream fancy, but the red accents do make it look like a gaming laptop.

The only real complain we have with this laptop is the fact that it has a rather poor battery, something that can be bit of an issue for a lot of people, but shouldn’t create much problems to begin with.

If you’re okay with this small gripe about the battery, then the ROG Strix GL502VM 15.6" shouldn’t be an issue as it happens to be an amazing gaming laptop to begin with

Pros

    • Gorgeous 1080p display that also supports G-Sync.

    • Powerful speakers

    • Available in multiple configurations.

    • Solid design and build quality.

Cons

    • Battery life is average at best.

Alienware AW13R3-75291SLV

Alienware-AW13R3-75291SLV

The next laptop we’re looking at is the Alienware AW13R3-75291SLV, if the name confuses, you can just look for the Alienware 13 R3, and you’ll end up with the same listing. Now this was a surprise because despite being one of the main companies to bring in gaming laptops, Alienware has spent the past couple of years on the sideline.

However, the company’s made a comeback, and in all honesty, it’s pretty promising to begin with. Now keep in mind that the R3 has some pretty nice tricks up its sleeves. For starters, you get a gorgeous OLED panel, and while the screen size is just 13.3 inches, the media consumption on it is absolute breeze.

Alienware has also worked on making sure that the hinge design is improved, and a lot better than before, giving you a worry free experience about using your laptop excessively. Another great thing is that despite Alienware’s reputation of releasing some of the most expensive laptops in the market, however, this time, the company has some pretty entry level laptops that don’t cost a lot to begin with.

As far as the specs are concerned, you can expect a GTX 1060, or even a 1050Ti along with all the bells and whistles as far as the storage is concerned. We can assure you that if you’re worried about the performance, you’re not going to run into any issues whatsoever.

However, with all the good things aside, there are some minor complaints that we have with this laptop, the overall size of the laptop is actually thicker despite being moderately small, in addition to that, another thing that you should know is that the battery level isn’t all that good to begin with.

Sure, the laptop’s plenty powerful, but the battery life is something that can hold the laptop back from performing well in the first place. All in all, keep in mind that the Alienware R3 is by no means a perfect laptop, however, you need to keep in mind that it’s good enough, and should do most of the work without any issues whatsoever.

Pros

    • Gorgeous OLED display

    • Solid build quality across the board.

    • Good gaming performance.

    • Available in a great range of price options.

Cons

    • The laptop’s oddly thick and have poor battery life

Razer Blade Pro

Razer-Blade-Pro-Best-Gaming-laptop

Just when we thought that Razer’s done impressing us, they came up with the Razer Blade Pro, an insanely high end gaming laptop that was looking to replace desktops for a great many people. Quickly, the laptop went on to become one of the best in the market that had a lot of bells and whistles at a cost of heavy price.

The Blade Pro is one of the most powerful, fully decked out laptops available in the market, it offers a 4K touch screen, a fully mechanically, individually backlit mechanical keyboard w/RGB, extremely slim, sleek, gamer and professional worked oriented design language, and the hardware to back it all off.

Needless to say, Razer didn’t want to leave any stones unturned with the release of this insanely powerful laptop. For those wondering, the Blade Pro comes with the desktop grade GTX 1080, and 512 gigs of blazing fast solid state storage.

The display’s 4K and offers touch support, and the keyboard’s fully mechanical, with RGB lighting that can be controlled through Razer’s Synapse 2.0. If that’s not enough, even the trackpad has RGB lighting around the corner. However, Razer moved it on the right side where the numpad usually sits.

If you’re wondering about the performance of the Razer Blade Pro, we can only tell you that the laptop performs exceptionally well. Sure, it may not be able to play all the games on 4K, but the fact that the screen’s there for media consumption is bonus on its own.

As far as the performance is concerned, or the media consumption is concerned, there’s nothing better than the Razer Blade Pro, especially when you keep the price in consideration. With that said, the only small issue we have with this laptop is that the fans go really, really loud when you’re gaming or using the laptop to its full potential.

If you’re okay with it, you can just ignore the loud fans, and go on with your high octane gaming. All in all, the Razer Blade Pro is a truly an enthusiast grade gaming laptop that’s going to offer you a lot of performance provide you’re in need of something like this

Pros

    • Premium construction through and through

    • Beautiful 4K, touch display.

    • Looks great for both professional and gaming environments.

    • Not unnecessarily bulky.

    • The mechanical keyboard w/RGB lighting is a treat to use

Cons

    • The fans get really loud at max volume.

    • Despite the large surface, the number pad’s missing, and is replaced by the trackpad

Gigabyte Aero 14Wv7

Gigabyte Aero 14Wv7

Ever since the gaming laptops have become a standard, we are seeing more and more find their way into the market, and we can’t really complain as it’s always nice to see more and more companies coming out in the market with some truly great laptops to begin with.

The laptop we’re looking at today is from Gigabyte, this is definitely not a surprise to a lot of people knowing the fact that the company’s been in the industry for quite some time. The Gigabyte Aero 14Wv7 is a mid-to-high end gaming laptop that’s aiming at people who want to be able to game, work, and commute without having to change their laptops.

Much like the majority of gaming laptops in the market, the Aero 14Wv7 also comes with the GTX 1060 that offers enough performance for decent 1080p gaming. Sure, you may not think that a GTX 1060 is enough, but you need to look at the price, and also know that it’s a laptop we’re talking about.

The laptop’s actually pretty lightweight for a gaming laptop, and that’s certainly a good thing. The lighter weight comes at an expense of plastic construction overall, however. This is something not many people realize, but it’s important to use quality materials in expensive gaming laptops.

The screen is definitely the selling point here as it happens to be one of the best panels we’ve laid our eyes on. Not too heavy on the colours, but just the right amount as well. The GPU and CPU work very well together, and offer a very decent performance for the price you’re paying.

We should mention that the trackpad of the laptop is not that good enough. Sure, you can do the basic tasks without any hassle, but when it comes to gaming, it’s just not that good enough. However, considering how you’d be using a mouse for gaming, it shouldn’t be that big of an issue.

We can’t really say much about the construction since it’s plastic for the most part, and this is something that can’t be ignored with, but considering the price you’re paying, it’s sort of justifiable.

All in all, the Gigabyte Aero 14Wv7 is a pretty decent gaming laptop with some minor caveats that you need to keep in mind before you go ahead and buy it.

Pros

    • Lightweight, subtle design.

    • Amazing looking screen.

    • Great CPU/GPU performance.

Cons

    • Trackpad is average at best.

    • Majority of construction is plastic.

Dell Inspiron 7000

Dell-Inspiron-7000

Dell is one of the companies that have been in the market for ages, their grasp over the laptop market is commendable to say the least. However, they haven’t always been paying attention to the gaming side of things. Times have changed now, and they’re actually focusing more on the gaming laptops as well.

The laptop we’re looking at today is the Dell Inspiron 7000, it’s one of the best cheap gaming laptops in the market, but don’t let the price fool you. The laptop’s actually pretty good if you’re on the budget, and want to have as proper gaming experience as well.

With that said, you get a fairly subtle, yet slightly aggressive design that suits the gamers more than anyone else. The overall construction is nice enough. However, it’s strange to see that the laptop’s pretty bulky, something that shouldn’t really happen considering it’s 2018, but if you’re okay with bulkiness, then it shouldn’t bother you.

Moving on, another important thing that you need to know that it comes with some decent specs including a GTX 1050Ti, 16 gigs of RAM, and a Core i7 7700 HQ. You’re also welcomed with a 1080p, 15.6” inch screen, but keep in mind that the screen isn’t as good as we’d hoped it would be.

The keyboard is backlit but if you want RGB in this price range, then you may want to look somewhere else. To be very honest with the readers, the Dell Inspiron 7000 is a really good gaming laptop for the price you’re paying. It’s a solid gaming machine that can run games at 1080p without much of a hassle.

However, the important thing that you need to keep in mind is that there are some downsides to this otherwise great gaming laptop. For starters, the screen isn’t the best in class, and the laptop is actually bulkier and thicker as well.

If you’re okay with these downsides, you may have a great experience with the Dell Inspiron 7000, because performance is something that still remains impressive to say the least. That's the reason we think this one's the best gaming laptop under 1000 or best budget gaming laptop.

Pros

    • Offers great processing, and gaming power.

    • Gaming at 1080p is a treat to enjoy.

    • Battery life happens to be amazing through and through.

Cons

    • Screen isn’t as good.

    • The laptop is bulky.

MSI GP72VRX Leopard Pro

MSI-GP72VRX-Leopard-Pro-Best-Gaming-Laptop

MSI has created some of the greatest gaming components, and there’s no other way to look at it. The company is known for their amazing graphic cards, and motherboards as well. It’s only safe to say that their foray into laptop market wasn’t a surprise to us at all.

The company started making laptops that managed to shake things up a bit, however, they have improved a lot ever since they originally started.

Today, we’re looking at the famous MSI GP72VRX Leopard Pro, a laptop that’s aimed at gamers as well as people who are interested in VR. Sure, you may wonder why a laptop would be marketed as something that’s made for VR use, but you need to know that companies are trying to evolve as much as possible.

The GR72VRX is definitely a looker with the aesthetics that will please majority of modern gamers, and not to mention the RGB keyboard is also there. All in all, it’s really hard to say whether or not you’d be able to remain subtle with this laptop but the good news is that should you need to turn off the backlit, it’s possible.

The standout feature of this laptop isn’t the fact that it’s something for gamers, and has VR support. The main selling point of this laptop is that it has an amazing 120 Hz screen that offers full HD resolution, and 17-inch screen real estate. While the bigger screen definitely makes the laptop something of a challenge to carry, it’s definitely worth the trouble.

In case you are wondering, the laptop definitely has the specs to boot including a Core i7 7700HQ, 16 gigs of RAM, a GTX 1060 with 3 gigs of video memory, and a 512 GB NVMe SSD. These specs are definitely impressive, and enough to give you a pretty amazing 1080p gaming experience.

There are a lot of good things about the MSI GP72VRX; the specs, the amazing gaming performance, 120 Hz refresh rate are just few of the amazing features. However, let’s not forget that there are some downsides as well.

For starters, the battery life isn’t something to break grounds over, and the fans can get really loud when laptop hits the peak performance. These may not be issues for everyone, but as someone who’s going to tell you whether or not a laptop’s good enough to buy, it’s necessary to list the downsides as well.

Pros

    • Gorgeous screen with 120 Hz refresh rate.

    • RGB keyboard.

    • Top of the line specs in the given price range.

    • Loaded with features.

Cons

    • Relatively poor battery life.

Acer Predator 17 X

Acer-Predator-17-Best-Gaming-Laptop

Thanks to Nvidia’s 1000 series of graphic cards, gaming laptops are becoming more and more accessible than they have been in the past. This is mainly because the modern day graphic cards are not really power hungry, making it easier for the companies to use them in the laptops, and considering how there are no laptop versions this time around, it’s even better since it allows for amazing performance through and through.

With that said, the laptop at hand is the Acer Predator 17, as the name suggests, this is one of the higher end models from Acer that has a lot of good specs to boot, and a gorgeous 17 inch display as well. Keep in mind that the laptop is far from conventional thanks to the aggressive design language, and bright red colour accents.

Needless to say, this laptop is certainly going to turn some heads but looks aren’t the major concern here. This laptop is surely packing a punch, including a GTX 1070. Now the important thing that you need to keep in mind here is that we’re not talking about some watered down version of the 1070, this is actually a desktop grade chip, assuring you that the performance will be as good as possible.

Another great thing about this laptop is that the fans can be swapped should the need arises, and while this type of modularity isn’t something that we see in the laptops that often, it’s important to know that it’s welcomed since we’re always open to see some amount of change in the laptops market.

Another great thing about the Acer Predator 17 is that there’s plenty of storage available for those who are in need of that, and in addition to that, the laptop does come with a lot of I/O parts as well, so should you have the need for those, it won’t be a problem.

Another good thing about this laptop is that despite the powerful internals, the overall battery life is rather impressive to say the least. It’s nothing ground breaking, but what you get is pretty decent, considering how we’re dealing with a bigger screen, and some really good hardware.

There are some downsides though, as you’d expect. However, the good news is that there’s nothing deal breaking. For starters, the fans get loud once the laptop starts reaching the max performance. If these downsides are okay with you, then there’s nothing wrong with the Acer Predator 17, and it actually is one of the best laptops in the market.

Pros

    • Slew of I/O ports.

    • Powerful processing and graphical performance.

    • Great storage options

    • Respectable battery life.

Cons

    • Laptop’s heavy, and bulky.

    • The fans can get too loud.

ASUS GL753VE-DS74

ASUS-GL753VE-DS74-Best-Gaming-Laptop

There’s no denying that we admire Asus because of their true dedication towards gamers who are interested in paying for quality products. Sure, a lot of people in the market would go out on a limb and say that Asus overcharges for the same products that are available for a lot less should decide to look at the other company, but in all honesty, it isn’t all that true.

Without drifting away from the point, we’re going to be looking at the ASUS GL753VE-DS74 in this review. It’s one of the modestly priced gaming laptops available in the market that has a decent enough list of specifications that will allow you to game comfortably on the 1080p display.

With that said, it’s important to note that the specs are decent enough for gaming, however, you shouldn’t be expecting everything on ultra, but considering the size of the laptop, and the price, ultra is not something a lot of people would be wanting to have in the first place.

The laptop stays cool when gaming, and the fans don’t get loud, something that is definitely commendable, considering how no one’s a fan of loud fans. The laptop’s keyboard is pretty nice for gaming, and typing.

For those wondering, it also ships with 4 zone RGB lighting, and while it’s not per-key backlighting, it’s definitely something that we appreciate. Last but not the least, the 17-inch display offers some nice visuals, and can be used for gaming, as well as media consumption.

Keeping all the positives in mind, there’s no denying that the ASUS GL753VE-DS74 is a wonderful gaming laptop that offers really nice performance in gaming.

Sure, there are some downsides like the fact that the keyboard along with the touchpad is actually not big enough for a laptop that comes with a 17-inch screen real estate. But if you’re okay with these caveats, we can assure you that your experience with the ASUS GL753VE-DS74 is going to be a positive one for sure.

Pros

    • Pretty decent gaming performance.

    • Great specs in the price range.

    • Aesthetics that will please the gamers.

    • Doesn’t run hot, and loud.

Cons

    • The keyboard and trackpad are somewhat small for a laptop this big.

MSI GS73VR Stealth 4K

MSI-GS73VR-Stealth-4K

We’re finally heading towards the end of our list, and we can only say that there’s no shortage of amazing gaming laptops available in the market. The one we’re looking at right now is the famous MSI GS73VR Stealth 4K. As the name suggests, this is in fact a laptop that comes with 4K screen. However, the good thing is that it doesn’t let the screen redefine itself.

This means that there are a lot of good things about the laptop that we must look at, it has a 17.3-inch 4K display, 16 gigs of DDR4 RAM, Intel’s top of the line 7700HQ processor, 512 GB of SSD along with 2 TB HDD for mass storage, and a mechanical keyboard along with it. Speaking of graphics, we have the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060, this one is the 6 GB version.

Needless to say, as far as the specs are concerned, this laptop is one of the best that is there to make sure everything is top of the line when it comes to playing games. However, you do need to keep in mind that if you intend to play games on 4K using the 1060, you may want to lower down the settings a bit in order to get the right experience.

With that said, the important thing that you need to keep in mind here that this is a near perfect representation of what gaming laptops can be. Sure, 4K is still not as mainstream as 1080p, but with the advancements of technology, we’re slowly getting there, and we can only say that the future’s bright. Speaking of bright, you also get an RGB backlit keyboard should you feel the need for it.

With the good things on the side, we do have some gripes. The laptop doesn’t come cheap, and while the overall design, and the build quality is nice, it feels like that the lid is not as strong as it should be, this is a concern considering how the screen is big, and weighty. In all honesty, we wouldn’t want that to stop it from hurting the laptop in anyway.

One more thing that moved above our heads is the use of a GTX 1060 to drive a 4K panel. While the GPU does drive it without any issues, the main concern is that the gaming performance isn’t up to the mark, raising some serious concerns for people.

If you’re okay with these random issues, then the MSI GS73VR Stealth 4K is actually more than capable of delivering an amazing experience with a laptop, provided you’ve the pockets for it.

Pros

    • 4K screen.

    • Loaded with features.

    • Modern, aggressive design.

    • Great build quality.

    • Top of the line specs.

Cons

    • The lid feels flimsy.

    • GTX 1060 isn’t enough for gaming at 4K.

Alienware 17 R4

Alienware-17-R4-Best-Gaming-Laptop

We’re finally on the last laptop of this list, and we must say, we’re not really unpleasant by what we have here. In case you’re wondering, we’re looking at the Alienware 17 R4 here, it’s one of the latest Alienware laptops boasting top of the line specs, and some impressive gaming performance.

Considering how Alienware has always been a fan favourite, reviewing this laptop was a major nostalgic boost for us.

This laptop comes with a GTX 1080, an Intel Core i7 7820HK, 16 gigs of RAM, and 1.5TB of total storage that can also be upgraded should you need it. Needless to say, AMD’s not messing around as far as the specs are concerned, and they are as solid as they come.

The laptop boasts a beautiful 17.3-inch screen with 1440p resolution, and while it’s not the highest number, strictly from a performance standpoint, this makes the most amount of sense, as there’s no way a 4K display would make a lot of sense.

The GTX 1080 with 1440p resolution is actually more than enough as far as the performance is concerned. One thing that we can be certain about is the performance isn’t going to be an issue because the laptop is a definite performer.

The laptop also comes with Tobii eye tracking for games that support it, and while a lot of people have called it a gimmick, it’s something that still has a lot of potential in the near future. All in all, as far as the features are concerned, the Alienware 17 R4 is an amazing laptop, however, it doesn’t come without its caveats.

For starters, the laptop is on the heavier, bulkier side of things, add that with a heavy power brick, and you have a laptop that’s not travel friendly. In addition to that, the battery life isn’t all that good either, and last but not the least, you need to keep in mind that the laptop gets pretty loud under load.

If you’re okay with these issues, and still want a laptop that’s an absolute performer, then the Alienware 17 R4 is a definite performer, and will not disappoint even the most seasoned gamers.

Pros

    • Top of the line, decked out performance.

    • Great specs.

    • Lot of customization options.

    • Ton of features.

Cons

    • Extremely bulky, not travel friendly at all.

    • Short battery life.

    • Pretty loud under load.

Conclusion

Testing 11 gaming laptops wasn’t an easy task, especially when they had so many similarities among themselves. However, we managed to do it, and do it in a way that allowed us to find the best gaming laptop that’s available in the market as well.

The conclusion was a battle of two of the beasts in the market, the Razer Blade Pro, and the Alienware 17 R4. After a very intense comparison, the ultimate winner is the Razer Blade Pro, and for several reasons as well.

For starters, the laptop’s mechanical keyboard, gorgeous 4K touch screen, and slip, easy to carry profile gave it an edge over the bulkier, and weightier design. Making it so much better through and through
